What is Glass Etching ?

"GLASS Etching" A process in which a piece of glass is covered with a template that has a design cut out of it. The glass is then blasted with media while the portion of the item not covered by the template is protected. The template image is thus etched into the glass.. Dye Guy Inc. uses two types of etching: acid etching and media-blast etching. By directing a high pressure, high speed stream of media abrasive at the surface of the object. As the grains of abrasive hit the selected area to be etched with enough force, an etched effect is produced. When the etching is complete, the areas which were not protected will be etched and the protected areas will remain clear.
